Jekko’s history

The Jekko product line arrived on the market in the late ‘90s as a result of work to design special machines to order and the production of the first mini cranes.
The “Jekko” brand was launched in 2007 while the following year saw the inauguration of a dedicated production site at the foot of the Veneto Prealps.

Ormet is founded

Ormet is founded, for the sale and installation of cranes for trucks and loading equipment for the ecological and timber sector

1972

First mini crane prototype

On the request of a glass installation firm, Ormet builds and sells its first mini crane prototype, the SLM200

2000

SLM600 export

Ormet designs the SLM600 for the same company, which exports it to Spain

2001

The first tracked crane

IMAI (an Ormet group company) designs the SLM650, the first tracked crane

2002

Mass production

Mass production begins and the SLM650 becomes a standard product. The new SPD260C+ is presented, the first battery-powered crane model

2003

The “Minicrane” brand

The “Minicrane” brand is created and registered

2004

First mini crane in U.S.A.

A first SPD360, the first mini crane to land in the USA, is sold.

2006

Jekko Minicrane brand is born

IMAI registers the Jekko Minicrane brand. The company takes part in the Bauma exhibition in Germany for the first time, presenting the SPD500, the first mini crane equipped with a hydraulic jib

2007

New Jekko Site

The company takes part in the Conexpo event in the USA for the first time, selling its first MPK20. Inauguration of a new site dedicated entirely to the production of mini cranes.

2008

Jekko becomes part of the Ormet group

Imai is acquired by Ormet and Jekko becomes part of the Ormet group. The SPX1040 and SPX527 are presented at Bauma, both equipped with the innovative Jemmy interface

2010

Jekko renews its entire range

Jekko renews its entire range, presenting the new SPB209CP and SPX312CP at Bauma. Work begins on the SPX1275

2013

The first Dealer Meeting

The new SPX1275 is presented at Conexpo (USA) and the new SPX424 at the first Dealer Meeting

2014

Production department extension

Jekko extends its production department by 1000 m²

2015

Jekko s.r.l. is born

Jekko s.r.l. is born, a firm independent of Ormet

2016

New production site

The new JF line is presented during the second Dealer Meeting. Inauguration of the new Godega production site.

2017

JF line extension

The JF line is extended with the JF30-40 and JF365

2018

Acquisition of a new factory

The new range is launched at Bauma, with the SPX532, SPX1280, JF990 and MPK06. The production area is extended by 11,000 m² with the acquisition of a new factory.

2019
